January 15 – February 7, 2027 (Weekends: evenings and matinees)
In-person auditions, by invitation only.
We will respond to applications as we near the in-person audition dates. Those chosen will receive an email from us.
Please save these dates in case you are called in:
Sunday 10/11: 5 PM – 8 PM
Monday 10/12: 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Sides from the play will be provided online.
Rehearsals:
Usually 2-3 nights/week and weekend dates (days or evenings), except holidays.
CASTING
Unless otherwise specified for the story, all roles are open to all actors regardless of race, color, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, or physical ability.
Many roles may require some level of physical intimacy with another actor.
(i.e., touching, hugging, kissing, etc. Please review the Compass Rose Theater Stage Kissing Policy.) We will have an Intimacy Coordinator.
Character range (18 - 40s). Double-cast and/or swing roles included.
A Maine accent is not required. A dialect coach will work with the cast.
Almost, Maine
Show Summary: On a clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not what it seems in the remote town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways.
