Here We Are

Please join us for this Staged Reading
Part of our series of free salon performances

As witty in pen as she was in person, Dorothy Parker penned this sweet little play about love and marriage, with all its foibles. A young couple boards a train to begin their honeymoon, and begin their life. All their fears, hopes, and passion are condensed into this tiny little script, as they talk on the train.

Well worth the trip, Compass Rose Theater offers this play as our third Salon Show.

The play will be followed by a post show information session about the future plans for the theater.

Cast

Kate Wheeler is a native Californian who studied at ACT in San Francisco, with Kim Darby and Kathleen Freeman in Los Angeles and with many fabulous directors, both in California and Maryland. Though her studies seem to have happened 100 years ago, being on stage last was a short month ago. Kate was last seen in Compass Roses’ staged reading of Dearly Departed. Prior to that Kate has been seen over the past 15 years around Annapolis with Colonial Players, Bowie Playhouse and Theatre 11. Favorite shows include Dear Gillian, Dearly Departed, Butterfingers Angel and Chapter Two. Here we Are is a favorite of Kate’s. Huge thank you to Lucinda Merry-Brown for taking her desire to bring this forward and turning it into a staged reading! Thank you for spending the afternoon with us.
