Create A Play! | 5-12 | This 3-day camp affords young actors the chance to wear many theatrical hats: playwright, collaborator, actor, and designer. Students jump into the world of storytelling as they develop an original play. They work to create dynamic characters with clear objectives, solve problems creatively, and perform their final product. Students work together to create sets and characterizations that support their imagination as their words become reality. Invite your family and friends to the final sharing of your creation! Musical Theater | 5-11 | Sign up for this musical theater class that provides training in singing and acting, essential for performing in musicals. Students engage in vocal and physical warm-ups, learn vocal techniques and song interpretation, and develop character and scene work. The class also covers audition preparation. Emphasis is placed on stage presence, feedback, self-reflection, and collaboration, fostering well-rounded performers who appreciate the collaborative nature of theater. Musical theater camp will focus on contemporary/pop musical theater music. Class ends in a presentation to family. Fairytales Onstage! | 5-12 | Create an ensemble of actors working together to dramatize classic and contemporary fantasy stories on stage! Students will explore their bodies, voice, mind, and imaginations to develop characters, transport themselves to magical worlds, and experiment a variety of methods to tell a story. This program combines movement, dance, song, visual arts, and drama as students develop their own original fairy tales! Your time culminates with a final sharing for family and friends of highlights and stories at the final class. Theater Bootcamp | 12-14 | An intensive designed to provide a solid foundation. Suitable for beginners and those with some onstage experience, students will explore basic acting techniques including voice and diction, movement, the art of the audition, and improvisation. Activities will include a variety of warm-ups and exercises, as well as scene work and monologues. Ends with a presentation to family and friends. Welcome to the Theatre | 9-12 | In this introductory camp, students will explore character creation and storytelling which is at the heart of acting for the stage. They will experience a wide variety of activities focused on introducing basic theater concepts such as ensemble, actor's tools, sharing the stage, dialogue, and action! This will introduce the young actor to a variety of techniques within the world of theater. Ends with a presentation to family and friends. Improvisation | 9-14 | Improvisation is a team sport! Students will explore this fun and accessible tool utilized by actors as they explore creating characters and developing relationships for the stage. Students will experience the joy of creative risk-taking and discover a newfound confidence and appreciation for the fearless actor. Play Production | 11-16 | In this intensive workshop, students will follow the theatrical process from beginning to end. Within the context of a published play, students will audition for roles, memorize lines, learn stage movement, create dynamic characters, and finally perform for a live audience onstage. As in any full production, it will be complete with costumes, props, and a set. This is a great opportunity for students to utilize their learned skills in a production.
